Here in the Hohe Tauern National Park, we live surrounded by magnificent, unspoilt nature all year round. Preserving and protecting its beauty is very important to us. As the owners of Chalet Goldbergspitze, we do our best to ensure the most environmentally friendly operation of our luxurious holiday home with many small alterations and forward-looking planning. Some of this is out of our hands – we are part of a chalet community and work closely with the Nationalpark Chalets operator. But we can look back with satisfaction on what we have already achieved together, and look forward to what we have planned for the future.
Relax, snack, cook – in good company
Carefully considered architecture and fittings

When building the chalet, we relied on various regional craftspeople and high-quality, local materials such as Rauris natural stone tiles (each tile is unique). With double-glazed windows and louvre blinds, the chalet stays cool in summer and pleasantly warm in winter with as little heating energy as possible. When constructing the roof truss, we planned for a PV system to be installed at a later date, and a dedicated electric charging station at the chalet offers our guests added convenience (further electric charging stations are located at the main building).

Shallow area in the swimming pond – ideal for children
In harmony with nature

Nature is at its most beautiful when left the way it is! The swimming pond/nature pool in the chalet village is carefully maintained and does not require any chemicals. The ski meadow is only mowed twice a year outside of the winter season to keep it blooming for bees and biodiversity. Our youngest guests in particular will enjoy a discovery tour here. If you like cooking with fresh herbs, you can help yourself to the herb garden at the main building. We also highly recommend the farm shops in our neighbourhood, some of which offer a delicious variety of organic produce.

Chalet village right beside a ski slope for beginners
Conserving resources

The entire Nationalpark Chalets complex (including the main building and the chalets) operates without fossil fuels. Photovoltaics and geothermal energy via heat pumps are used instead. Modern LEDs are installed in our Chalet Goldbergspitze as part of our efforts to save energy wherever possible. Indoor and outdoor motion detectors save electricity and have even been able to sensibly reduce some of the street lighting in the chalet village. Water-saving attachments on the taps in the chalet reduce consumption – but don’t worry, you can enjoy powerful water pressure when showering.
And the team at reception gets around on an electric golf cart to deliver bread rolls and provide laundry services

Pristine nature surroundings the chalet village
Working together for our environment

We look forward to welcoming you and your fellow travellers to our chalet! And we’ll be even happier if you want to contribute to a more sustainable holiday with just a few simple steps. There are four waste bins at the chalet for easy waste separation and recycling: residual waste, cardboard, plastic, cans. You will also find glass bins in the chalet village. If required, you can order a change of linen via reception or via the chalet’s own tablet.

Directions

From Kitzbühel, take the B161 southbound to Mittersill. Here you follow the B165 Gerlospass / Krimml (first exit at the roundabout) in the direction of Neukirchen am Großvenediger. As soon as you have left Neukirchen behind you, please note that some satnavs misdirect you here by leading you from the north via a road that is often closed with a barrier (this is a dead end that, just before you reach your destination, forces you to return all the way back to the main road). So it’s better to approach the chalet village from the south: Shortly after the little wood on the right-hand side, you will see the green “Nationalpark Chalets” signs on the right-hand side of the road. Turn right here and follow the signs uphill. The first thing you see in the chalet village is the building with the lounge and reception.

If you come via Gerlos Pass, turn left onto the B165. The exit to the chalet village is about 150 metres after the Gasthof Venedigerblick. On the left-hand side of the road you will see the green “Nationalpark Chalets” sign.
