Experience a natural paradise – in winter or summer

Enjoy a slower pace with a variety of diversions. This is possible when so many wonderful experiences come together in one place! In the winter months, our picturesque mountain world enchants you with its white splendour. How about a relaxing walk with a warming break, an entertaining yodelling course, snowshoeing or a cosy ride in a horse-drawn sleigh? In the evening, you can relax in the chalet’s own sauna or in front of the open fire. For an extra dose of wellness, the Schloss Spa at Schloss Mittersill offers thermal bliss in frosty temperatures (please check the seasonal opening times in advance). The large Tauern Spa in Zell am See/Kaprun is also highly recommended.

The Hohe Tauern National Park also has a lot to offer in the warmer months! Blooming meadows, grazing Alpine cattle, the warmth of the people and the traditional wooden houses create the classic Alpine idyll wherever you go. For example, you can enjoy a leisurely hike on a spectacular panoramic trail that connects the Wildkogel with the surrounding peaks. Start this loop walk at the Wildkogel cable car mountain stop, pass an idyllic mountain lake (with refreshment stop) and enjoy stunning views of the Hohe Tauern and Kitzbühel Alps as well as the beautiful Salzach Valley along the way. The nearby Krimml Waterfalls, one of the most impressive natural spectacles in the world, are also well worth a visit. Or you can hop on the panorama cable car in Hollersbach im Pinzgau to marvel at the breathtaking views of the mountains in the southern part of the Kitzbühel Alps. For your stay between 1 May and 31 October, we will also give you a National Park Summer Card at no charge!

Directions
From Kitzbühel, take the B161 southbound to Mittersill. Here you follow the B165 Gerlospass / Krimml (first exit at the roundabout) in the direction of Neukirchen am Großvenediger. As soon as you have left Neukirchen behind you, please note that some satnavs misdirect you here by leading you from the north via a road that is often closed with a barrier (this is a dead end that, just before you reach your destination, forces you to return all the way back to the main road). So it’s better to approach the chalet village from the south: Shortly after the little wood on the right-hand side, you will see the green “Nationalpark Chalets” signs on the right-hand side of the road. Turn right here and follow the signs uphill. The first thing you see in the chalet village is the building with the lounge and reception.
If you come via Gerlos Pass, turn left onto the B165. The exit to the chalet village is about 150 metres after the Gasthof Venedigerblick. On the left-hand side of the road you will see the green “Nationalpark Chalets” sign.
